Low Energy (AMO) Physics Using Storage Rings

Small, low energy storage rings have been used for atomic and molecular physics for the past decade or so.
This talk will give an overview of two such rings, ASTRID in Aarhus, Denmark, and TSR in Heidelberg,
Germany, and will describe some of the experiments that are being done there. In particular, ASTRID can
be used with electrons as well as heavy ions, and when so used generates synchrotron radiation in the UV
particularly well suited for atomic physics experiments.

COFFEE WILL BE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO THE COLLOQUIUM
