A well known plane anamorph is the Vexierbild
or Puzzle Picture (1535) by Erhard Schon, a student of the famous German
artist Albrecht Durer.
When this fantastic landscape (on the left) is viewed
at a low angle from the left four portraits emerge of Charles V, Ferdinand
I Pope Paul III and Francis I (shown at the right).
