Why Study in Guelph?

The University of Guelph is a research-intensive university with a student body population of 16,000 students located in Guelph, Ontario. As a graduate student in the Polymer Surface & Interface Group, you will be enrolled either in the Guelph-Waterloo Physics Institute (more physics) or the Biophysics Interdepartmental Group (more bio), both of which are large, comprehensive graduate programs. The City of Guelph has a college town atmosphere with the big city (Toronto) only 80 km away. Guelph is in the heart of the largest concentration of universities and industry in Canada, with easy access to the Toronto International airport (60 km away). This central location is a very important consideration for graduate students since it is key to pursuing collaborations with researchers at other universities and companies, and it makes it possible for me to send my graduate students to many major North American scientific conferences.
