Here is an oscillating ball.

Its motion can be described as follows:

  1. First the ball is at v = 0 at the right
  2. Then it moves with v < 0 through the centre to the left
  3. Then it is at v = 0 at the left
  4. Then it moves with v > 0 through the centre to the right
  5. Then it repeats...
