Course Text:

Modern Physics for Scientists and Engineers”, by J.R. Talyor, C.D. Zafiratos, and M. A. Dubson (2nd Edition, Prentice Hall, 2004).

Calendar Description:

The course investigates and describes the properties of atom, nuclei and elementary particles in terms of phenomena of modern physics. Topics include wave properties of mater, particle properties of electromagnetic radiation, uncertainty principle, elementary angular momentum, spin and elementary quantum mechanics.

You may always email me to make an appointment, or speak to me before or after a regular lecture. If necessary, we may arrange fixed office hours.

Grading:

Assingments 30% (Late assignments will not be accepted)
Mid-term 30%
Final exam 40%

Exams:

Mid term : Feb 17 (Thur), 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Room THRN 1307
Final Exam: April 15, 8:30 - 10:30 am, Room---Crop Science 117

Medical Certificate:

Not generally required. However, if you miss a TEST or EXAM, then you should see your College Counselor and get a note from him/her.

You are encouraged to discuss with others as you learn the material and work on the assignments. However, the work you submit must be your own and not a copy of someone else's work.
