Professor Joanne O'Meara selected as one of 20 participants in The Banff Centre's Science Communications residency program

Professor Joanne O'Meara has been selected as one of 20 international participants in this year's Science Communications residency program at The Banff Centre. This two-week program brings together professionals in both science and communications, and will give Professor O'Meara the opportunity to work with some of the world's leading science communicators e.g. Jay Ingram, Henry Kowalski (chief news editor at CTV news), John Rennie (editor in chief of Scientific American).

Mateusz Buraczynski to receive the 2015 Governor General's Silver Medal Award

Congratulations to Mateusz Buraczynski who has been awarded the 2015 Governor General's Silver Medal Award. The Silver medal is awarded to the undergraduate who achieves the highest academic standing upon graduation from a bachelor degree program.

Paper by Guelph's biophysicists featured in "New and Notable" section in latest issue of Biophysical Journal

The paper titled "In Situ Structural Studies of Anabaena Sensory Rhodopsin in the E. coli Membrane" is being featured in the New and Notable section of Biophysical Journal, Volume 108, Issue 7. The authors from the Department of Physics include graduate students Meaghan E. Ward, Rachel Munro, and Emilty Ritz as well as previous postdoctoral fellow Shenlin Wang, along with Professors Leonid Brown and Vladimir Ladizhansky.
