There are two ways to get I_{3}:

1. As above I_{3} = V_{BC}/R_{3} = 2/10000 = 0.2X10^{-3} A

Note: 0.8X10^{-3} + 0.2X10^{-3} = 1.0X10^{-3} as it must.

2. Knowing that the current is conserved we have:

I_{3} = I - I_{2} = 1.0X10^{-3} - 0.8X10^{-3} = 0.2X10^{-3} A
