Dr. Ian D'Souza holds a B.Sc. in physics from McGill and a Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics from Concordia University, but has spent 27 years in engineering design and development. He has designed high-frequency communications systems, space-flight hardware, and also worked in R&D where he holds a number of patents. He has managed several space projects and space-science feasibility studies, and has been key in initiating a number of satellite missions, one of which has spun off a commercial maritime data service. The latest mission will perform quantum key distribution and entanglement experiments from orbit. He is a member of the Strategic Development Group at COM DEV International, which looks at medium to long-term aerospace technology and business trends.
