Abstract

Einstein's theory of general relativity has passed a variety of stringent experimental and observational tests en route to becoming the established theory of gravity. However, all the classic tests of general relativity were performed in the weak-field regime of the solar system. To rule out -- or discover -- deviations from general relativity in the strong-field regime, tests that probe regions with large spacetime curvature are needed. In this talk, I will review the classic solar system tests of general relativity and highlight some more recent strong-field ones.
