Abstract

Throughout your undergraduate degree in physics, you rarely have any time for a social life, maintaining your health (or sanity for that matter). It is difficult to take time out of the day to develop a plan for your career. As physicists, we know that we are problem solvers and that we are well equipped to tackle big multifaceted issues. But how can we leverage our skills in today’s job market? What is physics good for anyway? This talk aims to answer these questions by investigating public data, by providing some case studies of physics graduates from Guelph, and by getting a perspective from individuals who have industry experience. I hope that after this talk you will have some more ideas for the next step(s) in your career.
