Welcome Star Gazers!

Orbax here, from the Department of Physics at the University of Guelph.

I know many of you have questions about the April 8 2024 eclipse and we’re here to help provide you with answers.

Below you’ll find “What, Why and How” videos for the eclipse, as well as a series of educator’s resources. These are aimed at both educators and the general population who are interested in learning more information and also include links to video materials licensed under creative commons for education that may be of use in the classroom.

On April 8th from 2:00 – 4:30 pm we will be facilitating a safe viewing experience here at the University of Guelph. We are encouraging people to gather on Johnston Green where members of our team will be circulating and answering questions. We will also be hosting small groups in our Observatory. These groups will be on a first come, first served basis. Please contact physugra@uoguelph.ca and include contact info as well as group size and any accessibility needs to be included in the Observatory tours.

Have a science-tastic day and don’t forget to take some time… to look up.
