In Memoriam - Kathleen Harris

Kathleen (MASON) Harris, on September 3, 2020 in her 91st year, beloved wife of the late Milton C. Harris (1984). Cherished mother of Lesley P. and her partner Shawn Sturrock and Pamela A. and her late husband Scott Shepherd, all of Guelph. Loved grandma of Jeremy and Emma. Predeceased by her brother William Mason of England.

She served as the Secretary to the Chair, from (1974 to 1984), and then as the first GWPI Admin Asst from 1984 until her retirement.

Professor John J. Simpson FRSC, a highly distinguished member of the Physics department from 1969 to 2002, passed away in the Netherlands on August 23rd 2016. John was born in North Bay, Ontario in 1939. He leaves his wife Marianne, his son James and daughter Sarah and their families, and his sister Donna and her family.

In Memoriam - Peter Egelstaff

Former resident of Guelph and; Waterloo died on the 18th of January 2015 at Parkwood Mennonite Home in Waterloo.. Dr. Peter Egelstaff was awarded the Ph.D. by the University of London in 1954. Peter was a pioneer of neutron scattering, the practice of bombarding selected material with a beam of neutrons to study the distinctive patterns they make when they bounce off. The patterns reveal information about the atomic and molecular structure and dynamics of the material. He began his professional career at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment (A.E.R.E.) Harwell, UK.

Celebration of Life to Remember Virginia Gray

Friends and colleagues are invited to join in celebration of the life of Virginia Gray, beloved wife of Chris Gray. Virginia passed away May 17, 2010. The celebration will take place Nov. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Cutten Club, 190 College Avenue East.
