It is my pleasure to congratulate the winners of the 2022 CAP Congress Student Awards.

Guelph had a number of winners within the Division of Theoretical Physics (DTP).

ORAL PRESENTATIONS:
First Prize: Karen Macias Cardenas, Queen's University
Second Prize: Samantha Buck, University of Guelph
Third Prize: Georgios Palkanoglou, University of Guelph

Honorary mention: Kensuke Gallock Yoshimura, University of Waterloo
Honorary mention: Diana Mendez Avalos, University of Waterloo
Honorary mention: Shafayat Shawqi, University of Alberta

POSTER PRESENTATIONS:
First Prize: Liam Farrell, McMaster University
Honorary mention: Joshua Cadogan, University of Guelph

There were 29 students in the DTP competition.  This long list of excellent presentations made judging a challenge.  Sincere thanks go to Professors Andrzej Czarnecki, Pierre Ouimet, and Huan Yang for their leadership in the judging process.

I am also happy to announce that Guelph Alum, Erin Flannigan, University of Ottawa took second prize in the Division of Applied Physics and Instrumentation (DAPI).

Congratulations again to the winners and also to all of the students in the competition.  Your presentations made valuable contributions to the theoretical physics program at the CAP Congress.
