Perimeter Institute

The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, founded in 1999, is a major centre for theoretical physics research located in Waterloo, Ontario. It has grown to include over 60 resident researchers involved in day-to-day operations, and hosts hundreds of international researchers each year for collaborations and workshops. Current areas of cross-disciplinary research include cosmology, particle physics, quantum foundations, quantum gravity, quantum information theory, and superstring theory. The University of Guelph is one of 30 Canadian universities and institutions that have signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Perimeter Institute.

TRIUMF

Located on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, TRIUMF is one of the world's leading subatomic physics laboratories. It brings together dedicated physicists and interdisciplinary talent, sophisticated technical resources, and commercial partners in a way that has established the laboratory as a global model of success. Its large user community is composed of international teams of scientists, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students. In July 2009, the University of Guelph became one of eight full members in the TRIUMF collaboration.
