Convocation - Undergraduate Awards and Honorary Degrees

Undergraduate Awards:

  • Ethan Buchman received the Governor General's Silver Medal Award for top undergraduate marks
  • Stephen Glazier received the J.B. Reynolds Graduation Medal in Physics
    The J.B. Reynolds Graduation Medal is awarded to the student who has completed semester 8 of any of the majors in Physics and who has obtained the highest cumulative average in the required Physics courses of that program, normally taken in semester 5 to 8.

Honorary Degrees:

    Congratulations to Robert Moscaritolo, Russell Spencer and Calvin Tabert on their success in giving their talks at the CAP Congress!

    • Russell Spencer placed first in the Division of Condensed Matter and Materials Physics.
    • Robert Moscaritolo tied for first in the Division of Medical and Biological Physics and went on to win first prize overall for Best Student Talk in the Friday competition.
    • Calvin Tabert placed third in the Division of Condensed Matter and Materials Physics.

    NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship - 2013 Competition Results

    Congratulations to:   
    Rachel Munro and Ryan Westernacher-Schneider on being awarded an NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship Masters (CGSM)
    Calvin Tabert on being awarded an NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship Doctoral, for three years (PGSD3)

    Congratulations to Ryan Plestid on obtaining the second highest score in the past six years in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition!

    Congratulations to Ryan Plestid whose score in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is the second highest score obtained at Guelph in the past six years; his score places him among the top 22% of students writing the Putnam this year North-America wide.

    The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is an annual contest for college students established in 1938 in memory of its namesake.
